Box TV rebrands to The Box Plus Network

The UK’s number one music video network is rebranding to reflect a broader and more integrated engagement with youth audiences.

Box TV is rebranding to become The Box Plus Network. The new branding reflects the company’s recognition of the ever changing viewing behaviour of youth audiences, the company’s increasing focus on unique and bespoke content production, and gives a clearer indication of the impressive diversity of channels available to music TV viewers.

The Box Plus Network includes the seven television channels; The Box plus 4Music, Smash Hits, Kiss, Kerrang!, Magic and Heat. Alongside the TV channels, Box Plus operates the free Box+ app, the boxplus.com and 4music.com websites and the array of supporting social media channels engaging its youth focused audience.

The rebrand is extremely timely as, besides the record 43.4% share of music TV, the network is proving to be an incredible force achieving a total audience reach of 71% of the entire British TV viewing population and 79% of all 16-34 year olds. On top of this Box Plus has the UK’s number one music (and pop) channel (4Music), adult contemporary channel (Magic), urban (and dance) channel (Kiss) and rock channel (Kerrang!) and across the network has delivered an incredible 3.8 billion individual video views in 2014.

Commenting on the rebrand, The Box Plus Network’s Managing Director, Matt Rennie said “Wow, what a year! Our audience embrace and adapt to new technology at an amazing rate, the way they consume media and their expectations are in a state of continual flux. Our business is changing as a direct result of this and we felt that being known as Box TV was no longer a reflection of the multiple ways in which we now operate and engage with our audience. As the UK’s most watched music video network, we’re committed to making sure our content offer remains relevant, regardless of how, when and where it’s consumed.”
