MOTORVISION Group extends its footprint in African, Asian and European markets by launching on six new platforms including OTT services like Knippr in the Netherlands and conventional TV platforms like DNA in Finland. For the first time, MOTORVISION programming is also available dubbed in Spanish now.
Munich, 2017-02-22 – With the launch on the new ‘pay tv a la carte’ service M2M TV by Mobile2Morrow in September, MOTORVISION TV kicked-off its distribution offensive in the up-and-coming OTT market with the objective of bringing its automotive content to a whole new audience. To underline its commitment to the multiscreen and OTT market, MOTORVISION sealed new deals with two OTT platforms in Europe and Africa.
Starting this Thursday, Dutch petrol heads will be able watch the channel on Knippr. The recently launched OTT service by T-Mobile Netherlands allows customers to stream channels and on-demand content to their TV screens, computers and mobile devices. In addition, the service brings extras such as start-over (delay), pause and 7 day catch-up TV, and is compatible with Chromecast and Apple TV 4. MOTORVISION TV is part of Knippr’s select package “Extra Zenders”.
Last week MOTORVISION TV has already announced the launch of its dedicated subscription streaming service on Amazon Channels in the US. With these deals, MOTORVISION not only satisfies the growing consumer demand for access to TV and on-demand content wherever they are, but positions MOTORVISION as an active player in the streaming market.
However, the traditional pay tv market remains important for MOTORVISION Group. That’s why the company strategically drives forward the expansion of its own linear channel on conventional pay TV platforms as well and signed four new distribution agreements with telecommunications providers in Europe.
Thanks to a new distribution agreement with Finland’s leading cable and IPTV operator DNA Oyi, MOTORVISION TV can now be seen by over 600,000 households in the Nordics for the very first time. The channel is available to DNA customers who subscribe to the DNA Sports Package or pick MOTORVISION TV as part of their MIX package. In addition to that the channel can also be seen via DNA’s extensive partner network.
In Cyprus, the channel welcomes MTN as its latest distribution partner besides Primetel, Cablenet and Cyta. MTN Cyprus is one of the largest telecommunications providers in the country and part of the MTN Group, which serves more than 231 million customers in 22 countries in Europe, Africa and Asia.
Slovenian car and motoring enthusiasts can now watch MOTORVISION TV on Telekom Austria Group’s si.mobil, too. Si.mobil began its operations in 1999 as Slovenia’s first private mobile operator and is currently the second largest telecommunications operator in the country. It offers
MOTORVISION TV as part of its Adrenalin package. Established distribution partners KRS (CATV Selnica) and Telekom Slovenij continue to offer the channel as well.
MOTORVISION TV also sealed a new distribution agreement with AVcom Ltd in Serbia. The cable operator and internet service provider was founded in Belgrade in 2002 and has since risen to become one of the leading internet operators in the country. MOTORVISION TV is being broadcast on Telekom Serbja’s Pay TV offering for more than a year, already.
Outside of Europe, MOTORVISION signed a new distribution agreement with Nigerian triple play service Legend by Suburban, which offers a premium TV content, internet and VoIP product delivered over a high-speed fibre optic data connection.
In Thailand MOTORVISION TV and Truevisions agreed to extend their distribution partnership, which brings the channel to about 400,000 subscribers of Truevisions’ Platinum HD and Gold HD packages. In addition to that, MOTORVISION renewed and expanded its output deal with African Business Channel, which can now bring a further 100 hours from MOTORVISION’s rich library of car, motoring, and motorsports content to its viewers.
With these newly agreed contracts, the dedicated car, motoring, and motorsports channel can be watched via traditional pay TV platforms by more than 10 million subscribers in 40 countries around the world.
MOTORVISION TV has already undertaken the next steps, to grow its audience even further. At MIPCOM the company has already announced to foray into Spanish and South American markets and is therefore offering its programming with a Spanish dub, too. 13 episodes of reportage format DreamCars and documentary series Car History are currently available with a Spanish-language track. More episodes and series will be made available shortly.
The distribution deal with si.mobil and DNA was negotiated by US Media (James Wells), Munich, while the partnership with AVcom was introduced by US Media (James Wells) and Slavica Danilovic. The deals with MTN Cyprus and Legend by Suburban were negotiated by 3 VisionDistribution, UK. The deal with Truevisions has been established with Multi Channels Asia MCA (Mr. Greg Creevey), Singapore.
